Clementines Are A Sweet And Juicy Citrus Fruit

Clementines are an exotic, incredible edible which used to be a rare treat in the winter time.

Sweet and juicy, it's loaded with nutritional and health benefits.

Imported from Spain, this delicious fruit is now available from November to March.

Purchased fresh, they should be a shiny, bright orange color. The fruit should be firm, yet give a slight indentation when squeezed.

Easy to peel...they are great for snacking. This fruit is excellent in salads, desserts and they make an awesome sorbet!

Nutritionally packed, a medium size clementine is approximately 50 calories.

It's a great nutritional source of Vitamin C, fiber, folate, and potassium.

Excellent for Vision

Research shows beta-carotene and ascorbic acid consumed daily reduces vision loss related to aging. Enjoy a great salad and increase your vision.

Salad
Mix three cups of greens with six segmented and peeled clementines. Add one half cup water chestnuts and one half cup walnuts and toss.

Dressing - Mix three tablespoons olive oil, one tablespoon honey mustard and one-quarter cup lemon juice together. Drizzle over the salad and serve.

Citric Acid for Skin Care

This fruit is loaded with an antibacterial agent, citric acid, which helps eliminate bacteria that causes blemishes. Its juice also helps reduce fine lines because Vitamin C stimulates the skin cell's production of collagen.

Beautifying Facial Mask

Whisk one egg white with clementine juice until if forms soft peaks. Apple the cream to your face for approximately 15 minutes, and then rinse well with tepid water.

Stress Reducing Aroma

The sweet aroma of this fruit is very calming. Studies show the scent triggers a neurotransmitter called serotonin in the brain. When serotonin is released, it gives you a "feel good" feeling.

Make an arrangement

Cut two clementines spirally and place them in a basket or bowl. Add cinnamon sticks, rosemary, whole clove leaves, or any other scented herb or spice that you like. The aroma will trickle through the room leaving you with a calm feeling. It's wonderful.
